Clothing

  • Layers — mornings are cold and afternoons warm, even in summer
  • A waterproof jacket
  • A warm fleece or down jacket (essential Oct–Mar)
  • Modest clothes for dzongs and temples: long sleeves, long trousers or a long skirt, and a collared shirt. No shorts, sleeveless tops or hats inside.
  • Comfortable walking shoes with good grip for the Tiger’s Nest hike

Essentials

  • Passport (valid 6+ months) and printed visa clearance letter
  • Travel insurance documents
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat — UV is strong at altitude
  • Personal medication and altitude remedies
  • Plug adapter: Bhutan uses types D, F and G at 230 V
  • Reusable water bottle

Sleeping bag rated to –10 °C, trekking poles, broken-in boots, head torch and blister kit. We provide tents, mattresses and meals.
